Episode 12 // How is the spiritual intimacy in your marriage? Do you have regular devotional times with your husband?
For most couples, we get so busy, tired, or stuck in a rut that we lose track of this marital priority. We focus on our emotional intimacy and our physical intimacy, but squirm away from spiritual intimacy.
As a marriage counselor, I have seen firsthand the impact that spiritual intimacy has on a marriage. Sure, most couples do not come into counseling because they are looking for greater spiritual connection. But whatever the problems are that bring them through the door, I often find that as they strengthen their spiritual intimacy, it has a positive impact on the problems they are struggling with.
The thing is... it can be very difficult to develop a healthy habit of devotional time in a marriage!
For most of us, it's difficult enough to find individual time for Bible reading and prayer. We get busy, our thoughts are distracted, the Bible confuses us, and we start to rely on a "verse of the day" app rather than investing time diving into God's Word ourselves.
If it's hard enough to do this on our own as individuals, how can we get two people to now come together on the same page for regular devotional times?
Well, just hit play, sister! Today we’ll look at why devotional time matters for a husband and wife, how to handle barriers like not being on the same page about what to do, and then we’ll look at 6 creative ideas that you can try in your marriage. Read the Bible. Pray with your husband. Deepen the spiritual intimacy of your marriage today.

Episode 10 // Today, we're wrapping up our mini series walking through the What, Why, and How of the four pillars of this podcast. We are looking at a top 10 list of practical action steps we can take to answer the question: HOW do we love others well?
How do you care for your friends? What about your co-workers and neighbors? Do you feel connected at church?
These relationships matter! But life gets busy. Our homes get messy, our calendars fill up, our emotions run dry... and it can feel like another chore on the list to reach out to people we don't have to have relationship with.
Have you ever felt too busy to connect with a good friend? Too tired to get up on a Sunday morning and go to church? Maybe you know what it's like to feel so frustrated with a co-worker that you start avoiding them in the lunch room. (Umm... raising my hand here. Eek.)
It doesn't need to be complicated. But loving others well does matter - and we can fit it into our schedule. If we know what to do.
So hit play, friend! Let's dive into the top 10 list for how you can love your friends, church, workplace, and community well.

Episode 9 // How are your friendships these days? Do you feel connected in your church? What about your workplace and your neighborhood? Are you invested in your community?
These relationships are hugely important in our lives. That's why we're digging into them in today's podcast episode! Loving OTHERS well is the fourth pillar of this podcast, and today we will look at WHAT it means and WHY it is important in our every day lives.
Who are these "other" people? These are the relationships outside of our homes, but they are people with whom we interact on a regular basis. They are our friends, our co-workers, our church family, our neighbors, and our community.
We often get so caught up in our little bubbles... my family, my to-do list, my schedule, my marriage, my faith journey... that we put these other relationships on the back burner.
Today, we'll talk about why that's a mistake.
Hit play, and let's get started, friend.

Episode 7 // Who do you see every day? Who sees you at your best... and your worst?
Drum roll please...
Your family. Your husband. Kids. Mom. Dad. Siblings. Grandparents.
The people you grew up with and the people you live with today are the people we have the deepest and longest-lasting relationships with. Today, we're digging into WHAT it means to love our family well and WHY that is important in our day to day lives.
This episode continues in our mini-series looking at the four pillars of this podcast. Loving our family well is probably what you naturally think about when you hear the title: "Love your people well." Who are your people? Your family!
As you listen to today's episode, please keep one important thing in mind: No family is perfect. You did not grow up in a family that perfectly met your needs. Your family today undoubtedly falls short at times on always showing kindness, patience, respect, and affection in every interaction.

Episode 5 // In today's episode, we are continuing our mini-series walking through the four pillars of the Love Your People Well™ Podcast. Today we are answering the questions of WHAT and WHY for pillar #2: Love Yourself Well.
What does it mean to love yourself well?
Why is it important?
This is such an important topic. It is so easy to neglect our mental health and put off time for self care. We spend so much time caring for other people, we run out of time for ourselves.
In my counseling work, I have worked with countless women struggling with this. In fact, I think we all do it! We focus on other people and let our own wellness slip by. Our hearts get sidetracked by anxiety, stress, discouragement, fear, and so many other hardships. We want things to change, but we struggle to find the time to do it.
No more, my friend!
Today, we look at what it means and why it's important to love yourself well. Join me on this journey to health, wholeness, and healing.
